Land Transport Act 1998

Mitigation of penalties and rights of appeal - Enforceable undertakings

112C: When enforceable undertaking is enforceable

You could also call this:

“When your promise to follow rules becomes official”

An enforceable undertaking is a promise you make to follow certain rules or do certain things. This law explains when that promise becomes official and can be enforced.

Your promise becomes enforceable as soon as the Director tells you they’ve accepted it. The Director is the person in charge of making these decisions. Sometimes, the Director might say the promise will start on a later date. If that happens, your promise becomes enforceable on that date instead.

Remember, once your promise is enforceable, you have to stick to it. It’s important to understand when this happens so you know when you need to start following through on what you agreed to do.
