Land Transport Act 1998

Administrative provisions - Powers and additional functions of Authority and Director

199A: Register of transport service licences

You could also call this:

“A list of people who have permission to run transport services”

The Agency keeps a register of transport service licences. This register includes important information about each licence holder. The information includes the holder’s name, date of birth (if they’re a person), address, and electronic address if known. It also includes details about any person in control of the licence, like their name, address, and electronic address if known.

The register shows the licence number, when it was issued, and what types of transport services it covers. It includes any safety ratings, conditions on the licence, and information about suspensions or cancellations. The register also records if the licence holder has been disqualified or had a disqualification removed, and when any changes were made to the licence.

If you want to see information from the register, you can ask the Agency and pay a fee if required. If the licence holder agrees, you can see all their information. Without their agreement, you can only see their name and some basic details about their licence.

When you ask for information, you need to describe the person clearly so the Agency can find the right records. You can ask for the information in writing, electronically, or by talking to someone. The Agency can give you the information in the same ways.
