Land Transport Act 1998

Offences relating to transport services and penalties

79B: Provision of incorrect information

You could also call this:

“It's against the law to lie about your transport certificates”

If you are in charge of a transport service or have a licence for one, you need to be honest when you tell the Director about your certificates. The Director is an important person who oversees transport services. If you tell the Director you have the right certificate when you know you don’t, or if you’re not sure but say it anyway, you’re breaking the law. This is a serious matter. If you’re caught doing this, you might have to pay a fine of up to $10,000. It’s important to always be truthful about your certificates and qualifications when dealing with transport services.
