Land Transport Act 1998

Additional responsibilities concerning road transport

21: Enforcement officers to ameliorate hazards

You could also call this:

“Police must fix or report dangers on the road”

If you are an enforcement officer working on the road and you notice something dangerous for traffic, you must do two things. First, you need to try your best to get rid of the danger or make it less risky. This could be a problem with the road itself or something else causing trouble. If you can’t completely fix the problem yourself, you need to tell the people in charge of the road about it as soon as you can. You should let them know so they can try to fix the dangerous situation.
