Land Transport Act 1998

Offences relating to driving (other than alcohol- and drug-related offences) and penalties - Other offences

46: Contravention of section 20

You could also call this:

“Breaking rules about traffic surveys without permission”

If you conduct a traffic survey without getting written permission from the Agency first, you’re breaking the law. This is also true if you don’t follow the rules or instructions given to you about the survey. These rules are explained in section 20 of the law.

You need to have a good reason if you don’t follow these rules. If you don’t, you’re committing an offence.

If you’re found guilty of breaking these rules, you might have to pay a fine. The most you could be fined is $2,000.
