Land Transport Act 1998

Offences relating to transport services and penalties

79D: Contravention of section 30K

You could also call this:

“Breaking the law by trying to get a transport licence when you're not allowed”

If you apply for a transport service licence when you’re not allowed to have one, you’re breaking the law. This is a serious offence.

If you’re found guilty of this offence, you could go to jail for up to 3 months or have to pay a fine of up to $4,500. The court will also stop you from getting or having a transport service licence for at least 6 months.

When the court decides to stop you from having a licence, they will look at the same things they consider in section 81 of the law, but they might change them a bit to fit this situation.
