Land Transport Act 1998

Offences relating to driving (other than alcohol- and drug-related offences) and penalties - Other offences

48: Contravention of section 92(4)

You could also call this:

“Breaking the rules for required driving courses”

If you don’t follow the rules in section 92(4), you might be breaking the law. This law says you need to do three things: go to a driving improvement course or dangerous goods course, finish the course, and pay for it. If you don’t do these things without a good reason, you’re committing an offence.

If you’re found guilty of not following these rules, you could be fined. The most you can be fined is $2,000. This is to make sure people take the courses seriously and follow the rules.

Remember, it’s important to attend and complete any courses you’re told to take, and to pay for them on time. If you can’t do these things, make sure you have a good reason.
