You can get a refund of fees in certain situations. If the Registrar cancels your motor vehicle registration under section 255, you might get a refund. You might also get a refund if you surrender a trade plate before it expires and the Registrar thinks it is appropriate. You can get a refund of the licence fee you paid for the period when your registration is cancelled. You can also get a refund of the trade plate fee you paid for the period when you surrender the trade plate. The Registrar can refund this money from a Crown Bank Account. The Registrar has the power to refund these fees without needing further approval. This means you can get your money back in certain situations. You do not have to do anything else to get the refund, the Registrar can just give you the money back.
