Land Transport Act 1998

Transport services licensing - Fit and proper person test - Assessment criteria

30F: Additional criteria for goods service

You could also call this:

“Extra checks for people who want to run a goods transport business”

When deciding if someone is fit and proper to run a goods service, the Director must look at some extra things. These are on top of what they already check for all transport services.

The Director will look closely at any crimes the person might have done while working in transport or a job related to transport. This could be any kind of transport service or business.

The Director will also look at whether the person has broken any big transport laws. They’re especially interested in laws about safety and road user charges.

These checks help the Director decide if the person can be trusted to run a goods service safely and follow the rules.
