“This part of the law doesn't cover shared-cost rides or trains”
This part of the law doesn’t apply to two types of vehicles. First, it doesn’t apply to vehicles used in a facilitated cost-sharing arrangement. This means if you’re sharing the cost of a trip with others in an organised way, this part of the law doesn’t affect you. Second, it doesn’t apply to any rail service vehicles. So if you’re dealing with trains or other vehicles that run on rails, this part of the law doesn’t apply to them either.
