Land Transport Act 1998

Additional responsibilities concerning road transport

14: False or misleading information not to be given

You could also call this:

“Don't lie or trick people when giving information about road rules”

You are not allowed to give false or misleading information when the law asks you for specific details. This rule also applies when you make a special kind of statement called a statutory declaration for anything related to this law. If you know that the information you’re giving is not true or might mislead someone, you must not provide it. This rule is part of the law that deals with road transport responsibilities in New Zealand.
