Land Transport Act 1998

Transport services licensing - Fit and proper person test - Assessment criteria

30E: Additional criteria for large passenger service

You could also call this:

“Rules for deciding if someone can run a big bus or taxi service”

When the Director is deciding if someone is fit and proper to run a large passenger service, they must look at some specific things. These are in addition to other things they might consider.

The Director will look at whether the person has a history of serious behaviour problems that might mean they could be violent. They will also check if the person has committed any violent crimes or sexual offences.

The Director will also look at whether the person has committed any major transport-related offences. This includes offences about safety or road user charges.

These checks help the Director make sure that people running large passenger services are safe and responsible.
