This part of the law is about water service providers doing work on private land, including Māori-owned land, and on roads. You need to know that it covers things like when a water service provider can enter someone's land to do work on water services infrastructure. It also says when the provider needs to get consent from the land owner before doing the work, and when the land owner can add conditions to the work being done.

When a water service provider wants to do work on water services infrastructure, they might need to enter land that is next to where the infrastructure is located. You should understand that this is allowed if it is necessary to complete the work.

This law also talks about other related matters, such as what happens when someone else is affected by the work being done on the land or road.
