A water service provider has to check and update its stormwater network risk management plan every 10 years. You can think of this plan like a blueprint to help manage stormwater risks. The provider must make sure the plan is working well and make changes if needed.

When a water service provider wants to make changes to its plan, it usually has to talk to people and get their feedback, following the rules set out in section 204. This is to make sure everyone affected by the changes has a say.

However, the provider does not have to consult people if the changes are small or just about minor details, and if they will not cause big problems with how the infrastructure works.
