181: Protection of water services infrastructure

You could also call this:

"Keeping your water pipes and equipment safe on someone else's land"

If you own water services infrastructure, like pipes, it can be on someone else's land. You can leave it there until you decide to move it. The person who owns the land does not own your infrastructure just because it is on their land.

If you have infrastructure under a building on someone else's land, the same rules apply. You get to decide what happens to your infrastructure. The owner of the land or building does not automatically own your infrastructure.

You can look at the law from 1992 for similar information. This law is about protecting water services infrastructure. It helps you understand your rights as an owner of infrastructure.
