If you have a duty to tell a water service provider about a notifiable risk or hazard under a bylaw made under section 258, you must do so. You commit an offence if you knowingly fail to comply with this duty and it causes a serious risk. This is a serious matter and you can be held responsible for your actions.

If you break this law, you can be fined if you are found guilty. As an individual, you can be fined up to $20,000. If you are a company or a group, you can be fined up to $200,000. The law is clear about the consequences of not following the rules.

You should be aware of the laws and rules that apply to you, especially when it comes to notifiable risks or hazards. The section 258 bylaw is an important part of this, and you must follow it to avoid any serious risks or penalties.
