Illustration for Local Government (Water Services) Act 2025

If you stop someone from doing their job on purpose, you can get in trouble. This person must be working for a territorial authority or water organisation and doing a task related to the Local Government (Water Services) Act 2025. You can be fined if you are found guilty of doing this.

If you are an individual, you can be fined up to $10,000. If you are a company or a group, you can be fined up to $250,000. This is what happens if you break the rules in this section of the Act.

You can look at similar rules in the past, like in the s 428 law, to see how they have changed over time.
