When you read this part of the law, some words have special meanings. A trade waste bylaw is a rule made under section 258 that deals with waste from businesses or industries being put into the wastewater system. You need to know what trade waste discharge is, which is waste that comes from industrial, commercial, or trade activities and goes into the wastewater network.

Trade waste discharge includes waste from things like factories or shops, but it does not include waste that a trade waste discharge plan made under section 185 says is not trade waste discharge. A trade waste discharge plan is a plan made by a water service provider under section 185. A trade waste permit is a permit given by a water service provider according to section 190.

When you hear the term trade waste premises, it means any land or building used for industrial, commercial, or trade purposes, or for storing, transferring, treating, or discharging trade waste. You should understand that these words have these meanings when you read this part of the law. These meanings help you know what the law is talking about.
