When you own private land, sections 208 to 210 of the Local Government (Water Services) Act 2025 apply to you in certain situations. These situations include when you have infrastructure on your land that carries stormwater to or from an overland flow path or a watercourse. This infrastructure can be things like pipes or drains that cross over or beneath your private land.

You are also affected by these sections if you own infrastructure that is part of a stormwater network, even if it is not directly connected to an overland flow path or watercourse. This can include pipes, drains, or other systems that help carry stormwater away from your land. You can find more information about this in sections 208 to 210.
