A compliance order is a document that tells you what you must do. It must include your name and the reasons why you are getting the order. The order will also tell you what action you need to take, stop, or not do.

The order will say how long you have to take the action or stop doing something. This time period must be reasonable, so you have enough time to do what is required. You can compare this to a similar law from 2022, which is available on the legislation.govt.nz website. The compliance order is an important document that you should read carefully to understand what you need to do.
