180: Consideration of application for scheduled international air service licence

You could also call this:

"How the licensing authority decides on applications for international flight licences"

When you apply for a scheduled international air service licence, the licensing authority considers your application. They must think about the main purposes of the Civil Aviation Act 2023 and any international agreements that New Zealand is part of. They also consider any written comments they received about your application, as outlined in section 179(b), if you are a New Zealand international airline applying for a restricted licence.

The licensing authority can also think about any other matter they believe is in the public's best interest. If granting a licence would go against any international agreement, the authority must refuse the licence. You can find more information about similar laws by looking at the Civil Aviation Act 1986 and its sections, such as sections 87F and 87M.

The licensing authority makes the final decision about your application based on these considerations.
