If you operate an aircraft or have a certificate of registration and you do not follow the rules about identifying the pilot-in-command, you can get in trouble. You must have a good reason for not following these rules, which are outlined in section 18. If you do not have a good reason, you can commit an offence.

If you commit this offence, you can be fined when you are convicted. The amount of the fine depends on who you are. If you are an individual, you can be fined up to $30,000.

If you are not an individual, you can be fined up to $100,000.
