Civil Aviation Act 2023

Monitoring, investigation, and enforcement - Powers of entry and inspection

296: Offence to impersonate inspector

You could also call this:

"It's against the law to pretend to be an aviation inspector when you're not one."

Illustration for Civil Aviation Act 2023

If you are not an inspector, you must not pretend to be one. You cannot hold yourself out to be an inspector in any way. This means you cannot make people think you are an inspector when you are not.

If you pretend to be an inspector when you are not, you can get in trouble with the law. You can commit an offence and have to pay a fine of up to $10,000 if you are convicted. This is a serious penalty for impersonating an inspector.
