If you want to run an aerodrome, you might need to register with the Secretary. The Secretary will register you if they are satisfied with a few things. They need to know that the people who will be affected by your registration have been consulted. The Secretary also needs to believe that registering you is consistent with the main goals of the Civil Aviation Act 2023, and that you will follow the rules. You can find more information about this in section 221.

When the Secretary registers you, they will send you a written notice. This notice will tell you the area that is covered by your registration. This area must include the aerodrome itself. It can also include other areas that the Secretary thinks are being used for the airport, or might be used in the future.
