Civil Aviation Act 2023

Regulations and miscellaneous provisions - Consequential and other amendments, repeals, and revocations - Revocations

489: Revocations

You could also call this:

"Old aviation rules will be cancelled when the new Civil Aviation Act 2023 starts"

When the new Civil Aviation Act 2023 comes into force, some old rules will be revoked. You will not have to follow the Direction to Require Screening Notice 2007, the Civil Aviation (Direction to Require Screening and Searching) Notice 2018, or some other notices. These notices are listed on the New Zealand legislation website and in the New Zealand Gazette.

The Civil Aviation (Offences) Regulations 2006 will also be revoked. Any ordinary rules made under the Civil Aviation Act 1990 that are in force before the new act starts will be revoked too. Some orders, like the Civil Aviation (Montreal Convention) Order 2010 and the Civil Aviation (Montreal Convention) Order 2020, will be revoked as well.

You can find more information about these changes on the New Zealand legislation website, which has links to the Civil Aviation Act 1990 and other related laws. The New Zealand Gazette also has information about the notices that will be revoked. Some of these notices can be found at https://gazette.govt.nz/notice/id/2016-au6778, https://gazette.govt.nz/notice/id/2007-go1875, https://gazette.govt.nz/notice/id/2012-au4439, and https://gazette.govt.nz/notice/id/1997-go3702.
