Regulations and miscellaneous provisions - Review of Director’s decisions - Provisions relating to reviews

448: Final decision

You could also call this:

"The Director makes a final choice about your application and tells you in writing what it is and why."

Illustration for Civil Aviation Act 2023

When you apply for something under the Civil Aviation Act 2023, the Director gets a report from a reviewer. The Director must then make a final decision within 10 working days. You will be told in writing what the final decision is and why it was made. The Director looks at the reviewer's report and decides whether to accept any of the recommendations. You get a written notice with the final decision and the reasons for it.

If everyone agrees, the Director can make a final decision before getting the reviewer's report. This final decision is made in your favour if you are the applicant. The Director tells you in writing about the final decision and the reasons for it.

When the Director makes this kind of final decision, you are considered to have withdrawn your application. This happens on the day you get the written notice from the Director. You are told in writing about the final decision and the reasons for it, and then your application is considered withdrawn.
