When you read this part of the law, a person authorised by the Director has a special meaning. It means someone the Director has chosen, and this can happen in two ways. You can find out more about one way in subpart 20 for unruly passenger offences.

For other infringement offences, the Director chooses someone under section 372(1). This is how the law defines a person authorised by the Director in this section. You need to understand what the Director's role is to know who can be authorised.
