You can ask for something to be removed if you are an authorised party or their certified designee. You must do this in writing to the Director, and follow the rules set out in section 438(3). You need to have the right authorisation to make this request. If you are a debtor, you can also make this request, but you need to get the authorised party's written consent first and give a copy to the Director.

When you make a removal request, you may need to pay a fee. The Director must then cancel the authorisation as soon as possible, but no more than 5 working days after getting your request. After the Director cancels the authorisation, the CAA must remove it from the New Zealand Register of Aircraft.
