Civil Aviation Act 2023

Airports - Airport operators

224: Registration may cover 2 or more airports

You could also call this:

"One airport registration can cover multiple airports, and each airport can be treated separately."

Illustration for Civil Aviation Act 2023

When you register an airport, the same registration can cover two or more airports. If this happens, any mention of the airport in the Civil Aviation Act is actually talking about each of the airports separately. You can add another airport to a registration, but the decision to do this must follow the same rules as registering a new airport operator under section 222.

The registration can be suspended or cancelled for one of the airports, as if each airport had its own separate registration. If a registration is issued, suspended, or cancelled, it can apply to one or more of the airports covered by the registration. This means that what happens to one airport does not necessarily affect the others.
