Civil Aviation Act 2023

International aviation - International air carriage competition

203: Authorisation of tariffs by Minister in specified circumstances

You could also call this:

"The Minister can approve flight prices between countries if the flight starts or ends in New Zealand and there's an agreement that says they must approve it."

Illustration for Civil Aviation Act 2023

The Minister can approve tariffs for flying between countries if certain conditions are met. You need to know that one of these conditions is that the flight starts or ends in New Zealand, even if you stop somewhere else on the way. The other condition is that there is an agreement that says the Minister must approve the tariff.

The Minister's approval is required when there is an agreement that includes a rule about getting approval for tariffs. You can find more information about this by looking at the link to legislation that was used in the past. This rule applies to flights between two countries, including New Zealand.
