Illustration for Civil Aviation Act 2023

When you hear the term 'aviation place' in this Act, it refers to a location where aviation activities are happening or usually happen. You are involved in these activities as someone who takes part in aviation. This location can be an aircraft, an aerodrome, or a special installation used for aviation. It also includes a place where an aircraft operates from, or where aircraft or parts are kept.

The term 'place' in this context is not just limited to land, it also includes vehicles, vessels, or other structures that can move. You can think of it as including any waters and installations on land, under water, or floating on water. This helps to give a clear understanding of what is meant by 'aviation place' in the Act.
