This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

Illustration for Arms Bill

The chief executive may give you a business licence if you want to start a business that deals with arms items. You must have a firearms licence and the chief executive must think you are a fit and proper person to have a business licence. The chief executive must also be satisfied that you have secure storage facilities for the arms items. The chief executive must check that you have good systems in place to keep records and follow the rules of this Act. If you plan to run your business from more than one place, each place must have a manager who has a business licence. This manager must be able to oversee and control the business activities at that place. Your business licence must say what business activities you are allowed to do and what types of arms items you can deal with. If you want to deal with certain types of arms items, like restricted firearms or pistols, your licence must have a special endorsement. This endorsement shows that you are allowed to deal with these types of arms items.
