You can apply for a new business licence before your current one expires. If you do this, your current licence will keep being valid until you hear back about your new application. You might get a written note saying your current licence is extended. You can get a new licence if your application is approved. This new licence will start from the date your old one was supposed to expire, or from the date you get the new one, depending on when it is issued. The chief executive can give you written confirmation that your current licence is still valid.
