This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

Arms Bill

Miscellaneous provisions - Direct access by certain government agencies to arms registry

360: Publication of direct access agreements

You could also call this:

"Government agencies must publish their direct access agreements online, except for secret information."

Illustration for Arms Bill

If a government agency makes a direct access agreement, you will see it online. The agreement will be on the agency's website and the Arms Regulator's website. You will also see any changes to the agreement on these websites. If the agreement has secret information, it may not be published. This is because of the Official Information Act 1982, which says some information can be kept secret. If this happens, you will see a summary of the agreement online instead. The summary will be on the agency's website and the Arms Regulator's website. This way, you can still find out some information about the agreement, even if it is not fully published.
