This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

The proposed law says you must record certain details in the arms registry. You will need to record things like licence numbers and expiry dates. You will also need to record the licence holder's name, date of birth, and address. You must record endorsements on licences and any extra conditions on a licence. This includes conditions that are not already part of the law or regulations made under section 362. You will need to record details of firearms, restricted weapons, and magazines, including their make, model, and location. You will also need to record information about modified or deactivated firearms. This includes firearms that have been changed to another type or are no longer usable. You must record information about imported arms items and ammunition that follow the rules in section 202. You will need to record any other details that regulations made under section 362 require. This will help keep track of all the information in the arms registry. You can find more information about these rules in the proposed law.
