This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

Illustration for Arms Bill

If you are an approved ammunition seller, you must give the chief executive some details about the ammunition you sell. You need to provide the name of the person who bought the ammunition, the type and amount of ammunition they bought, and their firearms licence number. If the ammunition was sold for use under someone else's supervision, you need to provide the supervisor's name and firearms licence number. If you break this rule without a good reason, you can get in trouble. You might have to pay a fine of up to $10,000 or go to prison for up to 6 months. There are some exceptions to this rule, which will be decided by regulations made under section 362. You should be aware that some details might not need to be provided, as decided by these regulations. This means you won't have to give the chief executive all the details if they are exempt. You must follow this rule if you are an approved ammunition seller.
