Offences relating to manufacturing and assembling arms items
268Possessing ammunition components intending to manufacture ammunition
A person commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a term of imprisonment not exceeding 2 years if the person—
- possesses any component of ammunition within the meaning of paragraph (a) of the definition of that term in section 5 in circumstances that indicate an intention to use that component to manufacture ammunition (for example, the person holds instructional material or guidance on how to manufacture ammunition); and
- possesses, or has access to, tools, equipment, or machinery capable of enabling the manufacture ammunition.
However, subsection (1) does not apply to a person who holds a firearms licence.
