This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

Arms Bill

General requirements - Requirements for selling or supplying arms items and ammunition - Selling or supplying ammunition

48: Exceptions to section 47(1)

You could also call this:

"When you don't have to follow the ammunition rules"

If you work for a licensed business, you are exempt from section 47(1). You are also exempt if you work for an ammunition seller and are supervised by someone with a firearms licence. You may be exempt if you are a shooting club member and sell ammunition to other members or on club premises with the club's approval. You must use the money from these sales to benefit the club. This means you can sell ammunition in certain situations without breaking the proposed law. You need to follow the rules to be exempt from section 47(1). The proposed law has some exceptions for people who sell or supply ammunition. You can be exempt if you meet certain conditions. These conditions are part of the proposed changes to the law.
