This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

Arms Bill

Administration - Arms Advisory Group

320: Arms Advisory Group continued

You could also call this:

"A group that advises the Minister on keeping arms safe and controlled in New Zealand"

Illustration for Arms Bill

The proposed law says there will still be a group called the Arms Advisory Group. You will have a group with the same name as the one that existed before this law starts. The group has members chosen by a Minister, including a leader and up to 8 other people. The Arms Advisory Group gives advice to the Minister about things that help achieve the goals of this law. This includes keeping the use and control of arms safe. The group can give advice on any matter related to arms in New Zealand. The group's advice can be about proposed laws, rules for firearms, or promoting firearms safety. The Minister is responsible for choosing the members of the group. The group is meant to help the Minister make good decisions about arms in New Zealand.
