You can get a permit to have a pistol carbine conversion kit if the chief executive is happy that you have a licence to have a pistol. You must also have a permit to import a pistol or to have a pistol. The chief executive must be happy that the kit is for a pistol that is not too long and can only fire certain ammunition at a certain speed. The kit must only change the pistol so it can be fired from the shoulder. The chief executive must check these things before giving you a permit. If you are applying for the permit for a special reason, the chief executive might give you the permit without checking these things.
