Illustration for Arms Bill

When you apply for a business licence, the chief executive decides if you are a fit and proper person to hold it. They look at your character and reputation, and check if you have the skills and resources to run the business. They also consider if you have any convictions, know about firearms, and understand the legal rules for business and firearms licences. The chief executive checks if you understand the rules for a firearms licence, including any special conditions that can be added to it. They want to know if you can give good advice on these rules. They might also think about other things that are relevant to your application. The chief executive makes this decision as part of the process for getting a business licence under the proposed Arms Bill. You need to show you are a responsible person who can follow the rules. This helps keep people safe and ensures businesses are run properly.
