This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

Illustration for Arms Bill

If you get a special endorsement on your licence for a pistol, large-capacity pistol magazine, or restricted weapon, you must follow some rules. You must keep these items safe by following the security precautions set out in regulations. You must also make sure any restricted weapons you have are not able to be used by removing a vital part. You must keep restricted weapons in an unusable state by removing a vital part. The person in charge can add more conditions for using or storing these items if they think it is necessary. These conditions can be about how you use or look after your pistol, large-capacity pistol magazine, or restricted weapon.
