You must not give a person a firearm or ammunition if you know they are not allowed to have one. This includes standard firearms, pistols, and other types of weapons. If you break this rule, you can get in trouble. You can get a prison sentence if you give a firearm to someone who is not allowed to have one. The sentence can be up to 7 years if the firearm is restricted. For other cases, the sentence can be up to 5 years. If you give someone a firearm when you know they are not allowed to have one, you are committing an offence. This means you can be convicted and sentenced to prison. The law is clear about what you can and cannot do when it comes to firearms.
