If you have a business licence, you must tell the chief executive if you stop doing some or all of the business activities listed on your licence. You do this if you are an individual or a senior manager of a company with a business licence. You also need to tell the chief executive if you are a senior manager and you stop being a senior manager of the company. If you are a senior manager of a company with a business licence and your company does not follow this rule without a good reason, you can be charged with an offence. You could be fined up to $10,000 if you are found guilty. This rule applies to companies that have a business licence and do not follow the rules about stopping business activities.
