This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

Arms Bill

Endorsements and permits - Permits to import

196: Permit to import issued for items to be brought into or sent to New Zealand in single consignment or multiple consignments

You could also call this:

"Getting a permit to bring items into New Zealand in one or many deliveries"

Illustration for Arms Bill

You can get a permit to import items into New Zealand. This permit is for items that come to New Zealand at the same time or in multiple deliveries. You can have multiple deliveries over a certain period. You can have deliveries over 12 months if you have a business licence. You can have deliveries over 30 days if you have a firearms licence, curator licence, or visitor licence. If an item is not delivered as planned, the permit no longer applies to that item. If you get a permit, it only applies to the items that are delivered as planned. The permit stops applying to any items that are not delivered. This means you need to follow the rules for the items that are delivered.
