Illustration for Arms Bill

The government wants to make a change to the law. You will see a new role for a department. This department will help the Minister with the Arms Regulator. The department will do things like administer laws and give advice to Ministers. The Minister will tell the department what they expect them to do in this role. The Minister must write to the department to explain what they want. After that, the department must always have these instructions. You can think of it like a set of rules that the department must follow.
