If you are a visitor to New Zealand and you want to use a standard firearm or pistol without supervision, you must have a visitor licence. You can apply for a visitor licence if you are 16 years or older, not disqualified, and a fit and proper person. You must apply to the chief executive in the correct way, using an approved form and including any required details and documents, and pay the fee if there is one.
