Building Act 2004

Miscellaneous provisions - Transitional provisions - Other transitional provisions

438: Transitional provision for code compliance certificates and compliance schedules issued under former Act

You could also call this:

“Old building safety papers still work with the new rules”

When this part of the law starts, some changes happen to old documents. If you had a code compliance certificate from the old law, it now works like it was given under section 95 of the new law. The same goes for compliance schedules - they now work as if they were given under section 102 of the new law.

If someone was allowed by the local council to check, take care of, and report on special systems mentioned in a compliance schedule before this law started, they can keep doing that job. But the council can stop letting them do it if they want to.
