Building Act 2004

Regulation of building practitioners - Licensing and disciplining of building practitioners - Register of licensed building practitioners

300: Form of register

You could also call this:

“The register can be kept in different ways and is usually available, but sometimes access might be limited.”

The register for licensed building practitioners can be kept in two ways. It can be an electronic register or in any other way that the Registrar thinks is best.

You should be able to access the register at all times. However, there are two situations when you might not be able to use it. The first is if the Registrar stops the register from working, either partly or completely, as allowed by the rules. The second is if other regulations say the register shouldn’t be available.

The Registrar can decide to stop people from using the register, or stop it from working partly or completely. They can do this if they think it’s not needed, not practical, or not appropriate to let people use the register.
