Building Act 2004

Regulatory responsibilities and accreditation - Responsibilities of chief executive - Functions, duties, and powers of chief executive generally

169: Chief executive must monitor current and emerging trends in building design, etc, and must report annually to Minister

You could also call this:

“ The boss of building rules keeps an eye on new ideas in construction and tells the government about them every year. ”

You will learn about what the chief executive must do to keep track of changes in building and report to the Minister. The chief executive needs to watch for new trends in how buildings are designed and built. They also need to watch for other things that might affect the building code and the ways to meet it. They must keep an eye on any warnings or bans about building products or methods. They should also watch for any guidance information they’ve shared and any other jobs they have under this law.

Every year, the chief executive has to write a report for the Minister. This report tells the Minister about all the things they’ve been watching and learning about building trends and changes.
